Rahul Gandhi to march through west UP


  • As farmers and the police fought a pitched battle, Rahul Gandhi jumped into the fray sneaking into Bhatta Parsaul village on a motorcycle during the wee hours of May
  • Then also he had planned to stay the night in the village when the Mayawati government suddenly ordered his arrest and eviction from the village in the middle of the night
  • Trouble had erupted in Bhatta Parsaul where farmers agitating for many months, clashed with the police on May 8 which left four people dead
  • While passing through villages on Tuesday Rahul Gandhi said at Nagla Bhattauna village that he was here to understand the farmers sentiments behind land acquisition and the proposed changes in law
  • Congress leaders said that he may spend the night in Jewar village where the Mayawati government has been pushing for developing an airport
